The Rainy Road Was Our Runway

Hello, friends. We are back. Back in Tulsa, Oklahoma, actually, and feeling very encouraged by what has happened over the last five days. It is hard to believe what can occur over such a short period of time.

After finishing up the conference yesterday around 4:30pm EST, it was time to set our sights westward once again. While our journey towards Virginia was full of many stops and interviews along the way, our u-turn was a little more singular. There was some excitement, however. 

For instance, it rained almost constantly. This led to the realization that it is not just in Oklahoma that people drive crazy in the rain. Speaking of Oklahoma, we also learned that it should be much harder to fall asleep on our roads than in other parts of the country. (We love you Oklahoma!) Not to mention, there was a long stretch there without any gas stations.

Not to over-spiritualize things, but how does a new car have an indicator pop up to tell you that you are out of gas and have “0” miles left that you can drive, yet you make it 5 more miles to the gas station? Just asking questions here.

So, everyone, thank you so much for your prayers, for keeping up with us and sharing in this great work God has us doing. These are exciting times and there is so much more to come. Not to tease you, but we have an incredible video from Nashville being posted quickly with more to follow. We have quite a story to tell. 

In the meantime, we are going to go love on our families and enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend. We’ll be talking to you soon and God bless.

On the Business of Blessed

It is a matter of great fortune to be able to travel to different places to tell people about the Kingdom of God. The Bible admonishes to redeem the time because the days are evil and it sometimes lost what privilege there is in doing so. It’s business time and God is blessing us as we get to it.

First of all, Virginia is even more beautiful during the day than it is at night believe it or not. Bristol is very clean, green and we are surrounded by rolling hills. Also, it cannot be overstated how friendly the people here are. There has to be a way to put a piece of this place in our back pocket to take home.

The conference is just about to kick off and we are slated to speak at 7pm. At this point we are still getting to know everybody and there is a great buzz of excitement in the air. Today is going to be a great day and we can’t wait to tell you about it. Keep checking in and we’ll keep posting up. Meanwhile, you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Trips, Trials & Happy Trails

It is somewhere in the area of 2am and we are finally here in Bristol Virginia. First of all, it needs to be said that this is a beautiful area of the country. After two days on the road it was very nice to discover that we would be spending our time here. 

We started the day off filming in Memphis and got some great stuff. You will get to see some of that tomorrow. Nashville was on par as well and we are expecting some real exciting things to happen tomorrow. 

The day gets off to an early start but we wanted to let everyone know we are here safe and sound. So far, the destinations have been full of great experiences. We are certainly missing our families right now but God is with us and we are having an absolutely good time. More to come later, but for now it’s sleepy time.

The Worst Elevator in Tennessee

So I walk up to the 2 gentlemen standing there and ask them, “Have you been waiting for the elevator for 10 minutes or 20?” Without a change in his sedated yet irritated expression, he said, “10.” Thankfully, it opened a couple of minutes later. We had, indeed, found the worst elevator in Tennessee.

We are just about to roll out of our hotel, containing said elevator, here in the great city of Memphis. After a long day of shooting and driving, we are looking forward to seeing this historic city and getting acquainted with it BBQ. We did both.

For a Wednesday, the city is incredibly active. It seems itis “Everybody Who Owns A Motorcycle in the South Come to Beale Street Night.” And they have. The sights, the music and the people are all fascinating to watch. However, our fascination turned into a sobering acknowledgement of how lost the world is. We were on Beale Street, in Memphis, Tennessee, and it exemplified the pinnacle of what this world has to offer.

Behind all of the smiles and groups of people having fun, you look into the eyes of the people and you don’t see a lot of peace. You see a lot of people who are searching for a definition, a thing they can point to and say, “my life is being lived fully.” As the buzz of the evening waned, you could tell that most people were not finding that contentment.

It was the same as any other street you walk down in America.

On a positive note, if you are ever in Memphis, go to Rendezvous BBQ restaurant. When you do, ask for Gino and let him know the folks from the Wake Up America Tour said “hi!” I think we found the place that made Memphis BBQ famous. You can thank us later.

Hello from Little Rock!

Greetings, everyone from the initial day of the Wake Up America tour. We just planted in Little Rock for lunch and have already had an eventful day. The road, the people and the research have been blessed.

We left Tulsa a bit late, around 9 AM, but no big deal, and set ourselves to the east with great enthusiasm. Realizing that we were filming a documentary, it didn’t take us long to know that we were not on a typical road trip. We have captured some great footage, met some interesting people and have been to some interesting places. And it’s just now lunch time!

Right now we are getting some good food along the banks of the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock. It is absolutely beautiful here and the bug to meet new people and see new things is upon us. We will be updating you soon. In the meantime…

Just Announced – Wake Up America Tour

Jerry Robinson, the author of Bankruptcy of Our Nation: 12 Key Strategies for Protecting Your Finances in These Uncertain Times, embarks Wednesday, 5-20, on a 5-day “Wake Up America” tour.

The tour includes stops in Tulsa, Little Rock, and Memphis on May 20. On May 21 Jerry will visit Nashville, then continue onto his final destination in Bristol, Virginia. There he will deliver 2 powerful lectures on the imminent collapse of the U.S. economy.

At the Wake Up America conference, May 22-23, Jerry will speak on the 5 dangerous economic trends facing America; he will also speak on Biblical solutions the American Church can use to engage in evangelism in these uncertain times.
